The food and service were superb! We celebrated our anniversary and everything we had was exquisite. Our favorite was the scallops.

This was an absolutely first rate dinning experience. Well travelled friends from Australia came to town and invited us. I hadn't heard of it before but the menu looked good and not crazy expensive, however we had to go super early to get a table - usually a good sign. The place was empty when we arrived at opening and filled up completely in about 15 minutes. Our server was on top form the entire time. Multiple dietary restrictions emerged, so she went into the kitchen and marked up the menu by hand, tailoring the menu for us in a flash. Never seen anything like it. Plan to share everything and get as many dishes as you can. We did 8 items for 4 people including standouts such as scallops, oysters, tartare, dumplings, and wagyu, plus a beautiful chocolate dessert. I left feeling like I had learned something new about food in New York, finally in the know, part of those who have been... and you should too. Enjoy!

Honestly can't say enough good things about Estela. I've yet to have a bad meal or bad dish here. I dined here 2 days ago and decided to only eat pescatarian friendly dishes. Usually I go all in on meat dishes. I ended up being just as happy. The oyster presentation was good (but those are hard to screw up). The tuna tartar was extremely tasty. The black rice with crab has a wonderful flavor. The ricotta dumplings were light and mouth watering. What I wasn't expecting was how good the desert was. I ordered the pana cotta. It had honey, sea salt, and perhaps vinegar. The flavors worked exceptionally well with the super creamy pana cotta. If you can't tell, I'm officially a fanboy for Estela. I probably should eat at some other restaurants when I'm in Ny, but it's hard not to come to this little charming spot when I stay in the lower east side.

What a great delight and surprise. Waitress even went thru menu when I say I had seafood allergies and highlighted what we should order. Started with the celery tonic mock-tail. Heavenly. Got a second one later in the meal. 8/10 Beef tartar was a really great beginning to the meal. Bread was a little tough but did its job. 6/10 Endive salad had such a wonderful brightness to it. Huge fan. 7/10 Ricotta Dumplings with mushrooms was a great warm up to the main entree. 6/10 Wagyu Beef with Sesame dressing. Whoa. 9/10 Finishes off the night with the Panna Cotta 9/10 and Chocolate Cake 7/10. Wonderful finish. Wait staff was wonderful, 9/10 Ambiance, we got there at 5:30pm. One table was already seated. Had a good 30 minutes before it got crowded where the conversations needed repeated due to the loud noise. 6/10 Price point: $130/per person (tip not included) Definitely would come back.
